From the zip file to your first test booking in about an hour. Each step names the exact screen in the JetBookIn dashboard.

1. Before you start

  • WordPress 6.3 or newer and PHP 8.0 or newer.
  • HTTPS on your site – card payments need it.
  • Any theme. Elementor is optional: JetBookIn has its own Elementor widgets and also works with shortcodes.
  • For a multilingual site: Polylang or WPML (optional).
  • Access to your hosting panel to add a cron job (step 9).

2. Install the plugin

  1. In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. Choose the file jetbookin-x.y.z.zip, click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. A JetBookIn menu appears in the admin. Activation also creates the Booking confirmation page that payments return to – keep it published.

3. Property, rooms and rates

Open JetBookIn → Property.

  1. Property: name, phone, e-mail, address, check-in and check-out times, and your registration number (e.g. ΑΜΑ, CIN, NRUA – choose the scheme of your country).
  2. Add room type for each kind of room or villa: guests, beds, size, photos, amenities.
  3. Add unit for each real room of that type (Suite 101, Suite 102…). Availability is counted per unit.
  4. Add rate plan: for example Flexible (deposit, free cancellation up to 7 days) and Non-refundable. Each plan has its deposit and cancellation rules.

4. Prices and availability

  1. Go to Calendar → Rates & Availability.
  2. Click Bulk edit, choose the room type and rate plan, a date range and the price per night. Minimum stay and closed arrival or departure days are set here too.
  3. Optional: in Calendar → Seasons name your periods (High season, Easter…) with their prices; saving a season puts the prices on every day of it.

5. Payments

  1. Go to Settings → Payments.
  2. Switch on the providers you use – Stripe, Viva Wallet (cards and IRIS), Cardlink / Nexi / Worldline, PayPal, bank transfer or pay at the property – and paste their keys.
  3. Start in test mode. Switch to live only after a test booking works (step 11).

6. Booking pages

Create a page, e.g. Book, and add the booking engine:

  • Elementor: drag the widgets from the JetBookIn category (search bar, results, booking box, calendar).
  • Any other editor: add the shortcodes and
    .

Room pages get a booking box with a calendar automatically. To show one elsewhere use , or for availability only.

7. Calendar sync with Booking.com, Airbnb and others

  1. Go to Calendar → Channels and add a connection for each room and platform.
  2. Paste the platform’s export link (the dashboard shows where to find it on each platform) and click Connect.
  3. Copy JetBookIn’s Export link into the platform’s “import calendar” field, so your direct bookings close the dates there.

Platforms read calendars on their own schedule – Booking.com can take a few hours. Channels shows when each platform last read your link.

8. E-mails

In Settings → E-mails set the sender name and address and the header colour. The texts of every e-mail, per language, are in Settings → E-mails (top tab). If e-mails don’t arrive, install an SMTP plugin and send through your mailbox.

9. Background jobs (cron)

Reminders, automatic balance charges and calendar imports run in the background. WordPress only runs them when someone visits your site, so on a live site add a server cron job every 5 minutes. Settings → System shows the exact line for your site:

*/5 * * * * cd /path/to/wordpress && wp jetbookin run-jobs --quiet

On Hostinger: hPanel → Advanced → Cron Jobs. Without WP-CLI, a cron job that opens https://your-site/wp-cron.php every 5 minutes also works. A red banner in the dashboard tells you when jobs are late.

10. Licence

JetBookIn Core works without a licence. For Pro and country packs, open Settings → License, paste your key and click Activate. A key is tied to the site it is activated on; to move it, deactivate it there first.

11. Make a test booking

  1. With payments in test mode, book a room on your site like a guest would.
  2. Check that the booking appears in Bookings → Reservations and that both e-mails arrived.
  3. Check that the dates are closed in Calendar and, after the next sync, on your platforms.
  4. Cancel the test booking, then switch payments to live.

12. If something isn’t right

  • Dates don’t close on Booking.com: check Calendar → Channels – it shows when Booking.com last read your link. Give it a few hours after a new connection.
  • A red “background jobs” banner: the cron job of step 9 is missing or failing.
  • The dashboard stays blank: clear your cache plugin and check that the site runs PHP 8.0 or newer.
  • E-mails don’t arrive: check the spam folder, then use an SMTP plugin.
